Treatments

Musculoskeletal pain, strain or imbalance

Pain can arise from numerous causes and can be acute or longstanding. Treatment focus on assessment to determine it's cause and limitations and then therapy to relieve the pain and return the client to optimal health. Therapy may include soft tissue and joint mobilisation, electrotherapy techniques, dry needling and exercise programs to strengthen and stabilise the affected areas.

Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation

Due to chronic injury or illness, surgery, fractures, or pregnancy, the changes that the body undergoes can cause pain, stiffness and weakness. Rehabilitation through mobilisation and specific exercise prescription is important in returning the body to optimal function and preventing further or repeat issues.

Headaches and Migraines

Headaches and migraines can severely affect daily functioning, can occur frequently and can last for days or weeks. Treatment of the cervical spine has been shown to assist in relieving the symptoms as well as reducing the frequency and severity of future attacks.

Vertigo

Vertigo may be due to illness, infection or trauma to the head or neck. Most commonly it is related to the inner ear and can be corrected through mobilisation and repositioning techniques.

Rehabilitation of movement and balance is required depending on the severity of the vertigo or if the vestibular nerves have been affected.

“I have had several back and ankle surgeries & Laura has been my physio of choice since 2010. She is very intuitive with her profession & I feel this gives her the edge with her patients. She helped me choose the correct rehab for my injuries  & I am physically much stronger now thanks to her. She also treats my 3 children for various sporting injuries & keeps my son (an Australian All Star Soccer player) in top form! Her presence & ability to really listen to her patients is a gift & I would recommend Laura to anyone requiring a physiotherapist. It will be an easier road to recovery with Laura to guide you.

Chest therapy

Treatment of chronic or persistent chest infections or conditions involves the use of percussions and facilitated breathing exercises to assist in loosening and expectorating mucous and improving air entry into the lungs.

I have been treated by Laura for severe osteoporosis for the past 5 years.

I have found her to be both caring & professional in every way.

Her convivial manner enables her patients to be at ease throughout the treatment

Laura has a positive manner with all her patients in every age group & I feel very comfortable in her care.
